A makers market with a mission

Pondering Pines Maker's Market connects local creative vendors with the community through fun outdoor and indoor events in beautiful Bayfield and at Vallecito Lake. Started by area residents Lori Terry and Kim Zenger, it's equal parts shopping, live music, and community — and every event gives back, with a portion of the proceeds going to a chosen local cause. Come for the handmade goods and festival finds; stay for the mountain air, the music, and the good company.

A market that gives back

A mission, every event

“A makers market with a mission” isn't just a tagline — each market sends a portion of its proceeds to a chosen local cause. The July 2026 summer market, for instance, sent its proceeds to the Upper Pine River Fire Protection District.

Made in the valley

Local creative vendors, regional makers, and area residents. Pondering Pines is about celebrating Colorado creativity and community — not reselling mass-produced goods.

More than shopping

Live music, prize drawings, food on site, and a friendly mountain-town atmosphere make it a half-day outing, not just a quick stop.

Lori & Kim

In their own words: “Hello, our names are Lori Terry and Kim Zenger. We are residents of the area, and we have started Pondering Pines Maker's Market to bring together great vendors and terrific customers.” Two locals who built a market that celebrates Colorado creativity and gives back to the community at the same time. They're also the only coordinators for these events — so anything you hear about a Pondering Pines market comes straight from them.

From summer markets to the holidays

Pondering Pines runs markets through the seasons — summer gatherings at the lake and a festive holiday market complete with Santa. Each one is a chance to shop local, hear some music, and support a neighbor or a good cause.

Want to be a vendor?

Pondering Pines welcomes local makers — art, home decor, handmade gifts, fashion & accessories, eco-friendly and skin-care products, and more. Spaces are limited and tend to fill, so reach out early.

  • Booth: $45 for a 10×10 space (per the 2026 summer-market flyer — confirm current rates with the organizers).
  • Apply or ask: Kim Zenger & Lori Terry are the only coordinators for these events — email ponderingpinesmm@gmail.com or call (970) 398-5958.
