Live cameras around Vallecito
There's no official camera on the water yet, so here's the honest picture: what each nearby camera shows, and what it doesn't.
The lake
There is no live webcam pointed at Vallecito Lake right now. The community camera that used to be hosted on LakesOnline is gone — the page it lived on returns a 404, so we've stopped linking it rather than send you to a dead end.
What we do have is live: the CDOT road cameras on the drive up, and the conditions dashboard — real lake level, weather from the marina station, and fire status, refreshed every 15 minutes.
The roads up
The cameras that actually matter for a trip are the CDOT snapshots on US 160 and US 550 — the Bayfield / CR 501 turnoff, US 160 east of Bayfield, and US 550 through Durango. Same eight cameras as the road status page, embedded here too.

Nearby mountain & weather cams
For the sky and snow above the valley, the closest useful cameras look at the high country north of the lake:
- OpenSnow — Colorado and the Purgatory Resort cams (about 25 miles north on US 550): the best read on incoming weather and snow over the San Juans that feeds Vallecito's runoff. Shows the ski area, not the lake.
- WeatherBug — Durango area cameras: assorted valley views around Durango, ~45 minutes southwest. Useful for regional cloud and storm timing.
